The Plots Of Pandemic

Ever thought of life like now?
Ever thought about waking up to live a life confined to the four walls?
Ever thought of dressing up in pyjamas to walk the runway of the hall?
And accessorizing with masks and shields to meet the world?
Ever thought of mastering the art of hygiene and sanitisation?
Ever thought of spending more than half of the day on electronic devices?
Ever thought of social distancing in offline mode,
And social interactions becoming entirely online?
Ever had a yesterday where you thought of a tomorrow like today?

It’s a chapter that we never expected to be a part of the syllabus.
It’s a chapter that we will never forget in our lives.
A chapter that taught us things we never expected to learn.

It was in December 2019, the mysterious virus came out of the womb of Wuhan. Little did we know that it would go playing around the whole world,Reaching every corner of this round globe.
As simple as a simple cough, or mild fever, but turns out to be the reason behind millions of corpses.
The world is currently experiencing a global pandemic due to the outbreak of a coronavirus causing COVID-19. This critical, complex, and unprecedented situation is having major impacts for our societies across the world. We will be facing the economic and social consequences of this crisis in the coming times.

All of us celebrated the night of 31st December 2019, and welcomed the new year on the first of January looking forward to a year of hope and happiness. However, this didn’t last for long.
30th January 2020 – the doomsday!
When corona decided to make its first appearance in our diverse country.Back then, it was just one case, which didn’t really bother us, But with time, it just stretched its arms across the entire country. Day by day, the number increased.
Slow and steady in the start, but started to blow super fast later. Tens, hundreds, thousands…lakhs…? And what next? we understood the value of a valueless digit.

“Appude cheppenu brahmam garu” , a Telugu proverb, became the new buzzword among the elders. It was apparently mentioned in the ‘kalagnanam’ by a prominent saint Pothuluri Veerabhramendra Swamy that a virus named Coramki will outburst in the northeast side of India and it claims the lives of crores of people.

Realizing Covid 19s “human to human” transmission capability, the world health organisation identified it as a public health emergency of international concern on January 31, 2020.
With the rise in numbers,There have been Many efforts to end this pandemic, Numerous trials to discover the magic formula of the vaccine.
‘Try and try and never cry’ being the current motive.
However, it looks like a process taking too long,
And hence, Quarantining became the new routine
A routine we follow to control this situation.

It has made a mark in the history of the future. Our children, and grandchildren will be studying about our lives in their history textbooks. Like we have the world wars, national movements, revolutions that stood as unerasable marks, Corona has created its own space.

The way we divided time into b.c. and a.c….in reference  to Christ,We might now have to work with terms “before corona and after corona” from now onwards.

We are those superheroes Who are saving the world By staying home in between the walls. Some said “we must live with this virus from now on” while some others never really bothered about its existence.

Everyday is a new day.
Starts with the sun slowly rising in the sky, giving a background light to the world.
Transforming the dark grey night to a dim reddish orange shade, followed by bright yellow white splash.
Along with the endeavors of the sun,the chickens cackle and cluck,The flowers blossom,Insects start humming,And Animals start with their routines.
Ooops…animals…not all of them! At Least not the quarantined ones…
Coz darling,
Regime is undefined in the dictionary Of the world Which entered the lazaretto.

The day starts when you rise,Coz nobody cares about the sun.
The right hour to eat Is when you’re hungry,Not when the clock ticks the meal time.
It’s midday or midnight,There is no perfectly defined schedule.
Doing whatever and whenever is the ultimate.
It’s the period of exercising freedom In terms of sleep.
Go with the forty winks,
Or have a siesta for a few hours,
Take a power nap,
Or get the glow with the beauty sleep,
Catch some z’s,
And enjoy the sound sleep!

It’s all about you and your mood.
Netflix and chill,
Or paint and kill.
Cook or read a book,
Study or clean the muddy,
Dress-up and impress,
Or sit back and distress.
Do some works,
To reach the perks.
Shower hugs and kisses during family time,
And never neglect your personal ‘me time’.
You are fortunate
If you have your valentine with you during quarantine
Enjoy on the couch,
But do not stoush.
Extract the most out of today,
And distract the low spirits.
Win your test and ignore the rest.

The meaning of quarantine is not the same for everyone.
For some, it’s a gift from the heaven, while for others, it’s similar to torture in the hell.

Well if we try generalizing things, we can broadly categorize the idea of quarantine based on the way people perceive it. The positive view and the negative outlook.

The first category of people are making the most of this lock down by enjoying their time and engaging themselves in various activities which give them pleasure and many a times, engaging themselves in  activities which we call “productive”.Engaging self in various household activities like washing clothes, cleaning house, dish-washing, or spending time with hobbies like painting, cooking, dancing, or playing musical instruments, or watching TV shows and movies and spending quality time with family is probably how one can enjoy his/her quarantine life.

People also utilize this time to work on making their brains busy by learning new things through the means of the internet. Some enroll themselves in online courses and internship programs, some spend time on reading and watching stuff on websites providing knowledge while some research on subjects that interest them.

The second category of people feel that their life is similar to a prisoner who is locked and has no freedom. They feel that they are handcuffed due to the pandemic and are in a situation where they are helpless and cannot do anything. People are always bored and go crazy because they have nothing to do.

The past few months have been really tough for the majority of the population. We got so used to the normalcy of our general life. We have all gone through phases where we missed the faces we saw everyday, missed our friends, we miss going out to movies and enjoying in amusement parks, going shopping, partying, and chilling around, we couldn’t resist the temptations of outside food and so on. We have been through a roller-coaster ride in terms of our mental health.

It is true that people might find it difficult to adapt to sudden lifestyle changes overnight, by jumping away from the energies of the moving world to an isolated space. But however, it is important to understand that overcoming such situations is what makes a person successful and tackling the worst circumstances is what life is all about.

This lock down period could be the best time to work upon self development and become a better person.

The past few months have clearly helped those people to grow into a better version of themselves who are able to utilize whatever they have by melting and reshaping the hard ice balls thrown by the pandemic. The Extreme flexibility of time schedules is a gift. Making the best use of this time is the most important skill that one needs in the current situation.

It is all about us,
It is all about how we view,
It is all about how we respond.
